We stayed with a friend in a nearby town on Friday night before heading to a small guesthouse on the coast:

Bad: not having any photos of our hosts to show you. (Not taking photos of people we like? That's how we roll.)
We drank it all in:

Bad: brushing my foot against a sea urchin and getting a splinter that ended up staying in my toe for a week. Ouch.

Bad: well, there's not much bad about that, is there?

Bad: dusk comes before 7pm in these parts this time of year.
I need more weekends like this one. Total spirit-lifter.

those pictures are beautiful! Where did you stay? P.S. I've been following your blog and loving it for a while... my hubby and I are also living and working in Haiti... and enjoy the camaraderie that your blog brings. But I'd love to also traipse about on this fab vacation get away!!1
We stayed in the Port Salut Beach Guesthouse - it's past the main part of town, just after the road splits and comes back together. It's sort of an extended family house - the rooms are simple, there's no electricity, and water runs to an outdoor shared bathing area, but there's a beautiful open space upstairs where you can lounge in a hammock and take in the view. It's about a ten-minute walk from the beach. Have a great time - it's a super-beautiful area!
